A platform dedicated to territories

FODIT TV is an audiovisual platform devoted to territorial diplomacy, international cooperation and dialogue between territories.

Through interviews, reports, debates, conferences, profiles and special programmes, the channel gives a voice to elected officials, diplomats, institutions, international organisations, experts, entrepreneurs and civil society actors.

Its mission

To make territories better known, strengthen their international visibility and promote partnerships and the sharing of experience. FODIT TV supports the activities of FODIT by offering a space for communication, reflection and international influence.

This trophy of recognition salutes the commitment of the Observatory and of its President to dialogue between territories and to international cooperation — a cooperation in which culture and gastronomy have a full place, as levers of attractiveness and influence for territories.

The OIDT extends its thanks to Master Chef Dr Abdessamad Hamrerras and to the Moroccan University of Culinary Arts for this mark of esteem.

The forum brought together participants from France, Senegal, Morocco, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Benin among other countries: mayors and local elected officials, representatives of local and regional authorities, government and institutional officials, experts in international relations and territorial development, private-sector representatives, academics, researchers and civil society organisations.

A theme: territories facing a world in upheaval

The central theme of this edition, “Territories facing the geopolitical challenges of a world in upheaval”, highlights the need for local and regional authorities to strengthen their resilience, their capacity for innovation and their international cooperation, in order to meet the challenges of sustainable development, local governance and social cohesion.

The aim of the meeting was clear: to strengthen territorial cooperation, encourage dialogue and share sustainable local development strategies among the countries represented.

Areas of discussion

The forum’s work was organised around seven major themes: territorial diplomacy and decentralised cooperation, local governance and public innovation, the economic development of territories, territorial attractiveness and investment, ecological transition and territorial resilience, intercultural dialogue and international cooperation, and the role of diasporas in local development.

An edition placed under the sign of Africa

The African continent held a central place in this edition, with the participation of many public figures, elected officials and experts engaged in territorial development, international cooperation and innovation. This focus reflects FODIT’s determination to strengthen synergies between Africa, Europe and other regions of the world.

It was also on this occasion that partnerships were signed between the OIDT and FEICOM on the one hand, and between the OIDT and the CVUC (United Communes and Cities of Cameroon) on the other.

The mission is led by Mr Ghaleb Faouaze, OIDT Country Representative. Its members were deployed in the field, alongside the actors of the electoral process, to follow voting operations at polling stations.

In line with the Observatory’s doctrine, the mission rests on four principles: independent observation, an inclusive approach, compliance with national and international standards and a contribution to peace and social cohesion. It is part of the OIDT’s core purpose: a diplomacy of territories serving peace, democracy and sustainable development.

To observe is to understand. To understand is to help build territories at peace.

The International Observatory for Territorial Diplomacy took a notable part in this work: the OIDT was represented by Mrs Marie Florence Hond, Head of Advocacy and Influence at the Observatory.

The ceremony was marked by the signing of a twofold partnership: on the one hand between the OIDT and FEICOM (the Special Fund for Inter-municipal Equipment and Intervention), and on the other hand between the OIDT and CVUC (United Councils and Cities of Cameroon).
